I was born in North Carolina and moved to New Jersey when I was three. Ever since I could hold a pencil in my hand, I have always loved to draw and sketch. While attending high school I took all my prerequisite classes first so I could live in the art room my senior year. At graduation I receive the Washington Township High Schools Art Achievement Award. While I was growing up and into my early twenties I used charcoal, pencil, and pen & ink. Until one day I was asked to paint a painting for my church which they needed within 4 days. The only thing that would dry that quickly was watercolors.
I had never painted with watercolor in my life but I was willing to give it a try. I purchased an inexpensive set and to my amazement I really enjoyed working with watercolors. Over the years I created my own unique technique and style. My paintings are extremely detailed and I use very little water. I am self taught and never had a watercolor lesson. I sold my painting and prints at art shows and galleries throughout New Jersey until I moved to Bradenton in 2001.
I recently moved to Tampa and would be happy to do custom paintings for any client. I have a passion for painting lighthouses, historic buildings, and beach scenes, however, I can also custom paint wildlife, flowers, and pets. |
